Innswood High School Shines with Fully Bright Team

March 10, 2023 | By Supa Pea |

Jamaica Day, last Friday, brought out the best of Jamaica’s culture, including cuisine, craft and performances. And, so Jamaicans suddenly turned green, gold and black (colours of the National flag) with citizens wearing such colours with pride and grace.

It was also a day when Innswood High School in St Catherine, shined with the Fully Bright team.

Dancehall/Afrobeat artiste deejay Shaka Pow, brought greetings which encouraged students to aim for the stars.

Using himself as an example, he plotted his journey to academic excellence from primary, leading to being a medical doctor by profession.

His charge came with his Fully Bright song, along with dancers, Anna and Wassdemm teaching students the moves which all point to academic excellence.

Students stepped up to their expectation with Avaught Takahashi and Tyrese Ferguson rendering a spectacular Fully Bright poem which received thunderous applause. Then, came Shamir Gordon with a cover Version of a song titled, Greatest Love Of All”.

Dancehall sensation Mr G connected with the students. He reminded them that  they should seize every opportunity to achieve a good education because times can be challenging . He did several songs including Swaggerific, Beat Dem Bad and Old Crook and was well received by scores of children.

Some ten students were presented with Fully Bright certificates. They included Michael Laney, Andrew Lawrence, Daniella McDonald and Candy Bryan.

The Fully Bright team was treated with a sumptuous meal by Principal Collington Powell and others.
