AN INTIMATE EVENING WITH RED PLASTIC BAG, CULTURAL AMBASSADOR OF BARBADOS!

Red Plastic Bag, the ten time Calypso Monarch of Barbados and one of four Cultural Ambassadors of Barbados, will take patrons seated in the beautiful theatre of the Armenian Youth Centre on a musical journey of his forty years in the entertainment arena. It is the first time in Canada that Red Plastic Bag, a.k.a RPB, and real name Stedson Wiltshire will perform his award winning commentary calypso, and soca songs at a theatre with an audience capacity of 450 while giving the background to their creation! Of course he will perform major hits such as “Ragga Ragga”(recorded by other artists in seven languages), “Can’t Find My Brudda”(featured in the recently released film HALL shown at this year’s CTFF in Toronto), “Something’s Happening”, “Boatride”, and this year’s Crop-Over release “I’m Alive”, among several others.

Accompanied by eight very talented musicians (Neu Jenarashun Band) including a strong horn section, patrons will experience RPB’s early songs which first made him an outstanding calypsonian in Barbados. As the years passed he also became an outstanding performer in the Caribbean and  in countries such as Brazil, Australia, China, UK, USA, and Canada!

The opening acts will be the Gibbs Brothers with their enthralling folk songs of the Caribbean, and the Crooner with his humorous calypso tunes!

This special concert is on next week Friday, October 26 at 8:30 p.m. at the Armenian Youth Centre Theatre, 50 Hallcrown Place, off Consumers Rd. near Victoria Park Ave. and 401 in Toronto. Admission is $40.
