Jamaica Constabulary Force Receives Prestigious IADLEST Certification

St. Catherine, JamaicaThe Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has achieved a significant milestone with the formal handover of the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) Certification at the National Police College of Jamaica. The ceremony, hosted by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Merrick Watson of the Training Branch, marked an important achievement in the JCF’s commitment to maintaining international standards in law enforcement training and development.

The IADLEST Certification is a globally recognized accreditation, underscoring the high level of training excellence that the JCF maintains in preparing its officers for duty. This certification is expected to further enhance the credibility and quality of the training programs offered at the National Police College, as well as boost the overall professional competence of the JCF personnel.

ACP Watson, in his address at the ceremony, emphasized the significance of the certification in positioning the JCF among top law enforcement agencies worldwide. He noted that the IADLEST accreditation is not only a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Training Branch but also an affirmation of the JCF’s commitment to continuous improvement.

The National Police College of Jamaica, located at Twickenham Park, has long been the JCF’s primary training hub, focusing on developing a highly skilled and disciplined force. The IADLEST Certification is expected to further enhance the quality of its programs, with a curriculum that aligns with international best practices.

In attendance at the event were representatives from the Ministry of National Security, senior officers of the JCF, and other stakeholders who have supported the JCF’s vision of becoming a world-class law enforcement agency.

The handover ceremony concluded with a tour of the National Police College’s facilities, showcasing its state-of-the-art resources that contribute to the JCF’s training excellence.
