Jamaica Expands Countries with Diplomatic Relations

Jamaica has announced the expansion of countries in which it has diplomatic relations.
“Expansion of countries with which Jamaica has diplomatic relations is an important part of our engagement across the world. It was therefore with great pride that last week in NY we completed the processes with Independent State of Samoa, Kiribati and the Republic of Palau.”
Foreign Affairs Minister Kamina Johnson Smith made the statement via twitter.
“As a Small Island Developing State Jamaica engages with #PacificIslands in fora such as #AOSIS #OACPS #Commonwealth and the #UN .Strengthening bilateral relations will complement our already good multilateral cooperation.”
“After signing it was also good to discuss #SIDS issues such as Oceans and Climate Resilience with their Excellencies, Ambassador Lutero (#Samoa) Ambassador Tito (#Kiribati) and Ambassador Seid (#Palau) as well the #Commonwealth and my candidature for the role of SG #KJSforCSG. ”
The Jamaican Foreign Affairs Minister name has been put forward to be the new Commonwealth Secretary General and replace Baroness Patricia Scotland.
