Jamaica Led With bat To Beat England

Jermaine Blackwood steered West Indies to a convincing win over the English by 4 wicket. West Indies is defending the Risden Trophy.

The three test series started on a wet day Wednesday last at the Rose Bowl, Southampton, English. It was the first test.

Blackwood fell by 5 runs short of a century. He got a match winning 95 which was the backbone of a splendid inning.

The West Indies beat England at home in a game of cricket that the English taught locals and brought to the West Indies.

The bowlers were just too good for the English men.  Barbados all rounder Jason holder ripped through their batting line up bagging 5 wickets.

England scored 204 in their first inning. West Indies replied with 304.
England made 318 in their second inning. Set approximately 200 to win the West Indians won by 4 Wickets left in hand.

As already stated Jamaican batsman Jermaine Blackwood fell 5 runs short of his second test hundred.

We congratulate the West Indians on a spectacular win.  Two other test to go.
