Jamaica To Reopen for Business on May 31st

PM Andrew Holness has issued the Order for Workers to return to work by May 31, 2020. Come June 1, 2020 we should have a full resumption by then. “We have to open up the economy”. Declared a strident PM. “The BPO sector to open fully and refitting to meet new protocols”  declared Minister Vaz who chairs the Back to Work Committee.

Minister Tufton said: “no new confirmed cases today. The second day that we have had no new cases. Vision Newspaper has already reported 9 deaths or 1.7 percent of cases with cases recovered at 127. Based on international standards we are doing well”.

Honourable Karl Samuda, acting Minister of Education has stated that: “CXC will be sat as of the 27th of July 2020. I am glad that this is now finalized.  Adjustments have been made for Jamaica, based on discussions.  Internet connections have not been reliable”.

Dr Nigel Clarke, Finance Minister stated that “80 percent of payouts from the Compassionate Grant Care Programme has been disbursed. The balance of twenty percent will be done soon. We have invited the Auditor General’s department to do an audit of the disbursements” Minister Clarke
