Jamaican Nurse Sandra Lindsay
July 14, 2022 | By Colin O. Jarrett | Jamaican Critical Care Nurse Sandra Lindsay has been bestowed the US Presidential Medal of Freedom honour.
She was the first person in the US to have been vaccinated against the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic that has killed and infected millions of Americans since 2020.
US President Joe Biden said Miss Lindsay served on the front lines of a COVID-19 pandemic response.
He said she was the first American to receive a COVID-19 vaccine outside of clinical trials and is a prominent advocate for vaccines and mental health for health care workers.
