Jamaica’s Consular Corps Leadership Meets with Governor-General

KINGSTON, Jamaica – His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen, Governor-General of Jamaica, welcomed Mr. Andrew Issa, Dean of the Consular Corps of Jamaica, along with the newly appointed Executive Officers for the 2025/2026 administration, during a courtesy call at King’s House on Wednesday.

The meeting underscored the significant role of the Consular Corps in Jamaica’s diplomatic and economic framework. With the support of 23 embassies, high commissions, and consulates, along with 80 active Honorary Consuls, the Corps plays a key role in providing consular services to Jamaicans at home and abroad.

King’s House acknowledged the Corps’ close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in promoting trade, investment, and the welfare of Jamaicans worldwide. The newly appointed executive team is expected to build on these efforts as they take on their leadership roles for the upcoming term.
