Julian Marley and Antaeus Shine at 67th GRAMMY Awards with Amapiano Remix

Los Angeles, CA – Reggae icon Julian Marley and artist-producer Antaeus made waves at the 67th GRAMMY Awards, securing a nomination in the highly competitive Best Remixed Recording category. While they did not take home the award, their independently released remix, Jah Sees Them – Amapiano Remix, stood as a landmark achievement for Caribbean and African music.

The category was dominated by major industry players, with Mark Ronson’s remix of Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso ultimately clinching the award. Also in contention were superstar artists such as Charli XCX, Shaboozey, and Doechii, alongside renowned remixers including David Guetta, Kaytranada, and A.G. Cook. Despite the stiff competition, Marley and Antaeus’ work received significant recognition from Recording Academy voters, highlighting the growing global impact of Amapiano-infused reggae.

Produced by Antaeus, UK producer/DJ Footsteps, and MrMyish, with mixing and mastering by Antaeus alongside GRAMMY-winning engineers Joe Maldonado and Alex Psaroudakis, the remix masterfully blends Marley’s reggae roots with the infectious rhythms of South African Amapiano. Released under Monom Records, the independent label co-founded by Antaeus and Magnus Johansson, the track has underscored the power of cross-cultural musical fusion.

Reflecting on the nomination, Julian Marley emphasized the significance of the project, stating that the Jah Sees Them remix embodies his deep passion for exploring music beyond reggae. Antaeus echoed this sentiment, highlighting their dedication to producing music that transcends genres and generations.

Monom Records, fueled by this momentum, is set to expand its reach in 2025 with comprehensive Artist Services for emerging talents and a new book division dedicated to music industry-related publications. The nomination marks yet another milestone for the label as it continues to push the boundaries of global music collaborations.

With their GRAMMY recognition, Julian Marley and Antaeus have once again proven that Caribbean and African music are powerful forces on the global stage, solidifying their place as pioneers of genre-blending innovation.
