Jet Blue Apologises To Jamaica

The conduct of one Kalina Collier sent Social Media buzzing and Jamaica’s image sliding.  In a nutshell Miss Kalina Collier, a 22 year old visitor falsely asserted that she was being held at a Jamaican hotel against her will.  This false claim started a chain of events.

In a media release Jet Blue Airlines has indicated that their scandal plagued flight employee, Kalina Collier, a flight attendant has been suspended.  The airline has also apologised to Jamaica for the conduct of their employee Ms Collier. She had allegedly posted a tweet in which she broadcast to the world that she was being held against her will by “wicked people” at a hotel property on the north coast.  She did not disclose that she had tested positive twice for the COVID Coronavirus hence her quarantine.

Fired

Kalina Collier’s suspension has since been upgraded to a dismissal of said employee Collier.  The airline was investigating the incident and concluded that the best course of action was the dismissal of Miss Collier.

Human Trafficking

So declared Miss Kitty, speaking on “Cliff Hughes On Line”  “What’s On my mind” segment.  This is a sponsored segment of the call in talk show on Nation Wide News Network (NNN) programme. Miss Kitty is sitting in for 3 weeks for Cliff Hughes.

Abducted

Kalina Collier 22, is of Jamaican parentage.  She tweeted that she has been kidnapped and many interpreted this to mean also that she was a victim of “human trafficking” .  In short that she was being trafficked or a victim of human trafficking.  Such allegations are very serious and could black list Jamaica in the eyes of potential visitors.

Thousands retweeted Collier’s post.

Delano Seiveright, Senior Advisor and Strategist in the Jamaican Tourism Ministry said:

“She launched a campaign “Save Kalina”. which was very effective. Ocean Springs Hotel was the hotel she was staying in Jamaica. The hotel said that they were speaking to their attorneys.  Celebrities have cancelled their vacation plans to Jamaica. I even got death threats.”

Delano Seiveright was speaking to Miss Kitty live on NNN today, Thursday 18th February 2021.  Miss Kitty as stated above is sitting in for Cliff Hughes who is off for three (3) weeks on vacation leave.

Commentary

Whatever motivated Miss Collier to act so stupidly or bad-mindedly has costed her dearly. She has lost her job. She could also face financial liability from the hotel she stayed at (Ocean Springs) for damaging their name brand.  She did bring the company’s name into disrepute by falsely alleging that she was kidnapped there. This could not be any further from the truth. She was staying there free, so she kicked her gift horse in the teeth.

We wish harm to no one, but are not shedding any tears for Kalina Collier. You are a dangerous person.

Miss Kitty, an attorney- at- law and media personality was livid and held nothing back in her condemnation of the actions of Miss Kalina Collier.  Her mother’s conduct did not go unnoticed by Miss Kitty. What a shame!
