Konfydence doing well with ‘Tek Dem Man’

Dancehall artiste Konfydence is celebrating the relative success of her new single, ‘Tek Dem Man’.

The song was released in early 2015, however, it has received strong airplay on local radio, boosted by the controversial music video in which she plays the role of a stripper.

“I portray the character of a night club pole dancer who uses her moves to take everything a man has. Over the last three months, the song has received rotation on top Jamaican stations, sound systems, and is steadily increasing on the international scene. Also, when it comes to the social network audience, it has become an anthem with the ladies,” she said.

Tek Dem Man was produced by Insight Records’ Jimmy Ricks and has already racked up over 100,000 views on YouTube since its upload on May 30. The artiste encourages persons on social media to continue viewing the video, highlighting that she placed a lot of effort into the choreography.

“I trained really hard for this video. I had never touch a pole in my life but after three painful weeks, I got it, so I tip my hat to the pole dancers out there. It’s not just about the music; I put my all into everything I do ranging from deejaying, dancing and acting. I want people to lend their support by downloading my songs, clicking on videos and following me on the social media so they can witness my rise to fame,” she said.

Inspiration

Konfydence draws her inspiration from Lady Saw, Spice and Patra, among others. Tek Dem Man has so far received 1220 downloads and has sold 997 copies online, which, according to her, is a sign of great things to come since music sales have declined significantly over the years.
