Leave The Butlers To Sought Out Their Family Issues

Perspective:

We are grateful for those media outlets who have seen it necessary to break news and keep us a breast with the latest in the tragic unfolding drama in the Butler family. We believe in a free press and it’s right to report events and happenings of public interest.  It is your solemn right to so do. One of your duties are is to report the news without fear or favour and let the chiips fall where they may. That is what a free press in a democracy has an unfettered obligation if not duty to do.  We say ride on your majesty!  Yours can be an inning of some mastery.

Know When To Hold

It was Kenny Rogers who penned these very famous lines in his celebrated all time great hit entitled “King of the County”. The line goes like this:

“You got to know when to hold them, know when fold them, No when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your money when your sitting at the table, there will be time enough for counting when the dealings done.”

Now that the Butlers have lawyered up. We say to the media hounds, do hold your horses. We are indebted to all you practitoners for your galantry. To Mr. Wayne Walker of the Nationwide Sports department we say a big thank you sir for breaking the news.  We know that the temptation to continue like a pig to wallow in a cesspool of effluent in perpetuity is their trademark, we say this may be the time to hold. Do not view this as an attack on press freedom. Just to give the Butlers some breathing space and so allow them some needed space. In short allow for good sense to prevail. Relationships in the best of times are difficult to navigate. The waters can be most threaterous.  Domestic issues are never easy to navigate either.

Legal Team

As a signal from the Tom Tavares-Finson, QC led legal team they have publicly pledged to make no more public statements at this time is a welcome move. We commend  them on this commitment. We hope they honour same. Do not for goodness sake follow the example of Mr. Norman Horne of the PNP.  Does he have any honour left?  You be the judge.  Honour is such a scare and priceless commodity.

Kenny Rogers

Do permit me to return to Kenny Rogers’ song.

The noted Country Western great Kenny Rogers penned an all time great song that has been immortalized by being repeatedly played.  The lyrics of which seems to be so fitting for all times. The noted part of line goes like this:

“You got to know when to hold them, know when fold them, No when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your money when your sitting at the table, there will be time enough for counting when the dealings done.”

I think he is referring to the gambling table where so much can be at stake.  A lot is at stake in holding a family together.

Let us be sensitive as it relates to family matters.
