LLOYD PRICE
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Lloyd Price is about to tell the world how he is so much more than just the guy who sang “Lawdy Miss Clawdy” and “Personality.” Price will publish his memoir, called “sumdumhonky,” on October 13th. Aside from his music career, Price was a boxer and he co-produced the “Rumble in the Jungle” fight between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali. He also manufactured sporting equipment, created middle-income housing in the Bronx, started his own record label, built a food company, bowled six perfect 300 games and was one of the first blacks to own a New York nightclub.
