The Dye Dye Invasion was a screaming success on the weekend, with three marquis events held in three parishes as the Money Goddess celebrated her, um, 40th birthday in style, and with great panache.

The first event was held last week Friday at the Friend and Company Lawn in Spanish Town, and it was a jam-packed event as Macka Diamond pulled a crowd numbering thousands. The venue was packed from as early as 1 a.m.

radio personalities

“It went until morning, at 5:45, the party was still jumping, dancers, the media, TV and radio personalities and of course, all the artistes. I really appreciate the love,” Macka Diamond said.

Artistes who showed up on Friday night included Kiprich, Bounty Killer, Ninja Man, General B, Benji Hype of ‘Google Bad Mind’ fame, I-Octane, Harry Toddler, and Specialist. Dancers such as Kiss Kiss, Luggo Luggo, Global Girls and Dancehall Queen Latiesha, and Mad Michelle also endorsed the event.

high-couture look

Macka Diamond wore various designs by Akini Fashions. On Friday night, she wore a black dress that reflected a high-couture look, and then on Saturday, she went for a turquoise sequin dress that imitated the fashion magazine look that would belong in the pages of Cosmopolitan. The final night she wore a classy blue dress.

The following day, there was a champagne-splashing soirée in Runaway Bay, and the Dye Dye Invasion climaxed at the Zero Degrees Sports Bar at Spur Tree Hill on Sunday. The well-known brand Christian Audigier sponsored the entire series of events providing beverages such as champagne, red wine, white wine and vodka, and e-cigarettes.
