Sing-jay artist Mad-X prepares for the release of ‘Gas Shuffle’ a UK House and Jamaican Dancehall fusion. The beat is produced by Dougie of Dwongo and features Mad-X and dancehall artist Ding Dong. The song was recorded and mastered at Hot Money Studios and was recently showcased on House FM, Liquid Live (DJ Whitey B, Lewis Brabham and Goldenstar), Real Buzz Radio (DJ Davinia Starr) and Xplosive Music Radio (DJ Lady Xplosive). It has also been played at club nights by Dj’s including 2Traxx (UK – Lush/Urban World Event) and Stainy and Chattis (JA – Wapping Thursday’s) among others.

Project Manager Lydia Garrick (Time Machine Ent) states:

‘Both music scenes, House and Dancehall are internationally big right now and share the common theme of energetic dancing…so why are there no original unsampled fusions for the patrons that enjoy both genres…? This harmonious fusion is a perfect example of how the two worlds can complement each other…

‘Gas’ and ‘Shuffling’ are the two top styles of dancing in the Dancehall and House scenes respectively. Ding Dong is currently one of Jamaica’s top dance innovators whilst Mad-X has a strong background as a dancer before she embarked on her career as a music artist. The music video is set to innovatively represent the fusion of styles.

Mad-x has broken barriers by merging styles in this song in a way that has never been done before. Originating from South London, Mad-X is an artist that does not fit snugly into one genre, she performs a fusion of breakbeat, dancehall, reggae, grime, house and hip-hop music. Her album ‘Roll Up 2 Da Club’ is a colourful testament to her versatile flows. Mad-X most recent collaborations include the song ‘Deceit’ featuring Tory Olivier and Raggo Zulu Rebel produced by UnKnown from D-Lab, ‘Outsiders’ with Hungarian band Zagar (Light Leaks) and ‘Sick ah dem’ with Cashflow Records (London Bridge riddim). Mad-X performs/hosts/Dj’s at events/parties for genres ranging from Dancehall to House. She is in her element when performing live and is notorious for her ability to hype up any crowd with her energy; prompting frequent invitations to return to venues at which she has performed.
