Back Ground

Vision monitored an interview with Marcia Griffiths by World Reggae. We now give you excerpts from that interview by Marcia Griffiths in her own words.

“I was raised in Hannah Town, West Kingston. Those were green days … no fear. Neighbour was your family. Values never change. Money cannot buy honesty … electronic devices are slow death. It was years 55 on Easter Monday 1964. I walked on stage with Byron Lee and Phillip James of the Blue Busters. At 10 years I walked on stage and the guitarist would not start. I just started to sing the song. It was a Carla Thomas rendition. It was a perfect rendition Tony Verity was M.C.  That same day I went to “Studio One”.  I recorded a song. That song was never released”.
