Ceremonial Opening of Parliament for the New Parliamentary Year 2021-2022.

The Governor General said: “Jamaica is now a Regional leader in renewable energy. The Implementation of new Data Protection Act Regulations. Also Regulations of the Telecommunication Act.  Among other legislative changes.  Diaspora regulations being improved.

Going Forward

There will also be Money (Bill) Laundering improvements to the Bill.  Supreme Court will deliver judgments within (6) six months. New dog liability Act. Restorative Justice focus and Mediation Act.

The new Parliamentary year opened today Thursday, February 18, 2021. The public was not allowed to attend due to COVID 19.  This robbed the event of the usual intrigue and colour. Quite a pity!

The Lower House and Senate sit Jointly on this occasion.

It is a lot of pomp and pageantry.
