Mexico’s Giovani dos Santos scores a goal in his LA Galaxy debut in CONCACAF Champions League

CARSON, Calif. (AP)_ Mexican star Giovani dos Santos scored in his debut for the LA Galaxy in a 5-1 victory over Trinidad and Tobago‘s Central FC in their CONCACAF Champions League group opener.

Dos Santos came on as a second-half substitute and scored in the 76th minute, banking a shot off the right post after excellent setup work from Sebastian Lletget and Rafael Garcia.

Dos Santos will make his MLS debut Sunday at home against Seattle alongside Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard, who both skipped Thursday’s game. Dos Santos has played for Mexico in two World Cup tournaments during nine years with El Tri.
