Minister Ng to lead trade mission to the Caribbean

OTTAWA, Canada04 March 2022 / PRN Africa / — Diversifying Canada’s trade with developing and emerging economies is key to strengthening our economy, creating jobs, and growing opportunities as we work towards an equitable global pandemic response and a sustainable, inclusive recovery.

Following a successful virtual trade mission in February to BotswanaCote d’IvoireSenegal, and South Africa, the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, is keeping the momentum going by announcing Canada’s next trade mission will be to the Caribbean from April 12 to 14, 2022.

To help Canadian businesses grow and export to diverse markets, Minister Ng will lead a three-day trade mission to the Caribbean, with a focus on GuyanaJamaicaBarbados, and Trinidad and Tobago. The Canada-Caribbean Trade Mission will target the promotion of sustainable growth and innovation.

This trade mission will give new and experienced Canadian exporters the chance to explore the growing number of sustainable business opportunities in clean technology and green infrastructure in the region. Canadian businesses can express their interest in participating in the trade mission here.

The Canada-Caribbean Trade Mission will help grow partnerships with members of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), promote Canadian businesses in key sectors and help build a path to sustainable recovery from the pandemic.
