Minister Sajjan speaks with Chief of Defence Staff Major General Rocky Meade of Jamaica
Minister Sajjan met yesterday with Jamaican Chief of Defence Staff MGen Rocky Meade. The bilateral meeting took place on the margins of the Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas (CDMA?) in Cancun, Mexico.
Minister Sajjan and MGen Meade discussed shared defence priorities, including: training and capacity building; international peacekeeping ?efforts; women, peace and security; and the importance of gender integration in the armed forces. They also discussed best practices for disaster preparedness and disaster response.
Minister Sajjan and MGen Meade agreed to continue ?to work closely to further strengthen the robust defence relationship between Canada and Jamaica.
