The workshop aligns with the Ministry’s broader objectives of promoting creative expression and deliberate cultural development under the hashtag #deliberateAboutDevelopment. This effort further strengthens the Ministry’s commitment to empowering Jamaicans through the arts, providing opportunities for citizens to explore traditional methods of creative expression while building new skills.
Batik, a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to cloth, offers a unique platform for participants to develop their artistic abilities, combining cultural heritage with personal expression. This form of art, which has roots in various parts of the world, is being embraced as part of Jamaica’s vibrant cultural landscape.
The Ministry encourages interested individuals to participate in the workshop, which is poised to be an enriching experience for anyone looking to explore the creative arts in a welcoming environment.
For more information on the workshop, the Ministry invites the public to stay tuned to their social media platforms and official website.
