Miss United Nations crowning 2016 … Trace-Anne Gooden

As Jamaica celebrates its 54th Anniversary as an Independent nation, a number of interesting developments have emerged on the local scene. For example there are various crownings from Farm Queen, National Festival Queen to Miss Universe and Miss World Contestants leading to the international Coronation of the Mother of all Beauty Queens … Miss World. We seem to be so addicted to crowning that we refuse to let go off the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth 2 … and become truly independent. Canadians seem to have a similar obsession. We have both retained the Queen of England as our Head of State.
