More GO Train Service for Families in York and Durham Regions

Ontario Adding More Rush-Hour Train Service Between Lincolnville and Toronto

Go TrainOntario is helping manage congestion, provide more transit options and improve commutes for families in York and Durham Regions with new rush-hour train service on the Stouffville GO line.

Starting Jan. 3, Metrolinx will introduce one new morning and one new afternoon GO train trip on the Stouffville line from Monday to Friday, for a total of 10 new trips per week. The new morning trip will depart from Lincolnville GO Station at 8:11 a.m. and arrive at Union Station at 9:30 a.m. The new afternoon trip will depart Union Station at 5:45 pm. and arrive at Lincolnville GO Station at 7:02 p.m.

  • Starting Dec. 31, Metrolinx will also introduce new year-round weekend GO train service on the Barrie line.
  • Since 2013, Ontario and Metrolinx have built three new GO stations, renovated 10 existing GO stations, and added approximately 7,000 new GO station parking spots. They have also purchased 220 new GO buses, 69 new GO train coaches, and 10 new GO train locomotives.
  • As of September 2016, GO Transit’s fleet included 75 new fuel efficient locomotives, 656 bi-level passenger coaches and around 500 buses.
