Nanterre and Spanish Town Cement Bond with Historic Twinning Agreement

Nanterre, France — In a landmark moment for international relations, the cities of Nanterre, France, and Spanish Town, Jamaica, have formalized their partnership with a historic twinning agreement. The signing ceremony took place on August 9, coinciding with Jamaica Day celebrations in Nanterre.

The agreement was signed by His Worship Mayor Norman Scott of Spanish Town and Mayor Raphael Adam of Nanterre. This significant step is set to foster stronger cultural and municipal ties between the two cities, creating opportunities for collaboration and exchange in various fields, including culture, education, and tourism.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests. Among them were the Honourable Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism for Jamaica, and Mr. DeanRoy Bernard, Permanent Secretary, who represented Honourable Olivia Grange, Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment & Sport, who was unable to attend due to other commitments. Their presence underscored the importance of the agreement and the strong commitment to enhancing bilateral relations.

This twinning initiative aims to promote mutual understanding and collaboration between the cities, paving the way for future joint projects and cultural exchanges. It marks a significant achievement in strengthening the relationship between Jamaica and France, and highlights the growing importance of international partnerships in fostering community development and global connectivity.
