News Flash: Gunman Kills Police Constable

As the 29th Commissioner of Police George Fitzroy Quallo, was being installed … a police Constable was brutally gunned down in broad daylight.
Facts are sketchy, but Vision’s SIC has learnt that suspicious characters were seen at a gas station in the St. Andrew, Area at a busy intersection.  Police responded to the report … it is further alleged that one of the suspects disarmed the officer and shot him dead.

Soldier Responded

It is further alleged that an alert soldier saw what was happening and challenged the attacker, killing him on the spot.  The police officer died on his way to hospital.  This is a sad day indeed as we were in the process of installing the 29th Police Commissioner which was attended by PM Holness, Govenor General Patrick Allen and National Security Minister Robert Montague and other leaders of the society …including the men and women of the Police forces, Chief of Staff Meade, National Security Adviser Anderson,  members of the public and the media.
We mourn the loss of life and hope this was not a terrorist attack on the forces of law and order in our society, here in Jamaica.
