Perspective:
Vision’s Senior International Correspondent stationed in Jamaica signs Condolence Book and filed past the flag draped casket of The Most Honourable Edward Phillip George Seaga former 5th PM of Jamaica.  Seaga has been seen as a visionary. nation builder and patriot whose contribution to the national and regional development is unmatched by anyone else.  Tourism and housing developments are among Seaga’s lasting legacy to name a few areas of national development.
Seaga As Nation Builder
There was a massive turn out estimated in excess of 50, 000 grieving children, adults and party supporters across the 5 locations his body has been taken. There has been a rich outpouring of love for Mr. Seaga.  “In death his invaluable contribution is being fully appreciated …” commented a strong supporter in Tivoli. Do not mention my name, please.  The Tivoli Gardens community, Culture, and numerous other infrastructure works are among the areas of lasting impact by Patriot Seaga. He will truly be missed for his nearly 44 years as Member of Parliament for West Kingston.  The longest serving MP so far in Jamaica.
State Funeral
Mr. Seega will be accorded a State Funeral following  his death in the USA after a brief illness.  The family has asked that there be a closed casket but this has not dampened the enthusiasm to show their respects to Seaga. There has been some controversy over the closed casket.  The state funeral will be held at the Roman Catholic Cathedral on North Street  in Kingston on the 23rd June 2019.  He was 89 and died on his birthday May 28. Rest in peace Mr. Seaga you have served us well.
