Perspective: Crime Escalation in Jamaica, JLP Government Under Siege

As crime escalates in Jamaica The Honourable Andrew Holness led JLP government seem to be under siege.  With over 100 homicides in less than 3 months in 2017, panic seems to be setting in coupled with calls for tougher measures to reduce the escalating crime level …mainly murders.  There as also been rapes and sexual assaults  under aged females and a few males …mainly from members of the faith based community.  High profile arrests have been made and the social organs have been pressuring the government to act.  The Opposition, although in disarray is applying considerable pressure.

Crisis Of Confidence
There appears to be a crisis of confidence in the government’s handling of the crime issue with even calls for the National Security Minister Montague to resign.
We warn the government not to tamper with the rights of law abiding Jamaicans.  Already Alkaline, an internationally known Recording Artiste was detained and released without charge and there is the perception that no one is safe from the criminals or the Police.
The authorities must respect the long earned rights of Jamaicans as you capture the criminals.
In my perspective, you cannot throw out the baby with the bathwater.
What is your perspective?  To do otherwise would be shameful and not acceptable.
