This is a watershed moment in the development of the Canadian society.  We at Vision have long highlighted the invaluable contribution of West Indians, people of colour and in particular Jamaicans.  Donovan Bailey, Miss Lou and others whom do not come to mind at this time.
Pierre Trudeau
It was under this distinguished Canadian, whose leadership saw one Pierre Trudeau, a father of the nation as Prime Minister, encouraged the opening up of an under-populated and possibly under developed Canada.  This vast continent was akin to virgin territory crying out for economic stimulus and skilled workers.  So it was to the vision of Daddy Pierre who laid this foundation.   He must have had naysayers but he relented nonetheless.  The Marshall’s and Squire families sing Pierre’s praise daily.
PM Justin has taken the baton from his late iconic father Pierre Trudeau.
We wish Ms. MOODIE all the success.  It could not have happened to a more qualified person. She is also a medical doctor.  Thank you all for keeping the Jamaican flag flying high.
Momentous Period
This is a great decade for Jamaica.  Successes like Dalton Harris, X Factor winner, Tessanne Chin, the Voice victor, Usain Bolt’s signing of new contract with money services, IMF approval of economic growth, 70+ percent reduction in crime in Montego Bay,  8.2 percent reduction in unemployment to historic level, 3 million Tourist arrivals to the Island, to name a few accolades and last but not least is Minister E. Bartlett getting International Tourism awards and by no means insignificant is PM Holness’ invitation to G7 exclusive club, normally reserved for top of the top world leaders from the developed nations,  to name a few. This is quite an honour to recognize the value of PM Holness’ leadership. It was indeed a momentous period for this little dot on the planet, Jamaica.
We salute Senator Dr. Rosemary Moodie, you have made women and people of colour very proud. Vision congratulates you Senator Dr. R.  Moodie.
