Perspective; Racism Is An Affront To Decency

For a noted clothing firm H&M to be seen labeling a piece of garment, a hoody “cool monkey” and showing a black child is so dumb … I am devastated. Racism is alive and appears to find fertile ground in Trump’s America.  Is this how President Trump plans to make “America strong again?”

Racism

“Racism is an affront to decency”  by Hopeton O’Connor-Dennie. This has been my motto for the last 15 or more years.  “Hitler was wrong, there is no super race”. Too many white persons are of the view that black people are inferior to them.  Black people have nothing to be ashamed of.  We have been great inventors and have made great contribution to the growth and development of our society. Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Frazer Pryce are world beaters. We leave white people down the track repeatedly.

Marcus Garvey was ahead of his time and white supremists have made it their duty to target successful black men like Garvey in our society. Canada and USA have been built by black sweat. So black lives matter.

State Sponsored Terrorists

The CIA/FBI have been used to infiltrate black run or owned institutions.  The Black Starliner organization was targeted and Marcus Garvey was later charged with mail fraud and placed in a jail.  Garvey was later convicted and deported back to Jamaica. They were state sponsored terrorists. (CIA & FBI).

Apology

We note their apology and withdrawal of offending garment. Also noted artistes have dished them publicly. Great move guys.

Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. was targeted and assassinated in an effort to turn back the gains of black people.  King was the victim of a plot that racist elements successfully plotted.  Today we have to fight to keep the gains we have gotten by sweat, blood and tears.

Victoria Secrets

It is now no secret that this clothing giants by the name of Victoria Secrets has been busted and exposed recently for racism (see vision newspaper for story “perspective”).  We will not fail to expose racism whenever or wherever it raises its ugly head.

When they cannot tag us black people with murder or other criminal charges they accuse us of sexual wrongdoing. Crosby fought back.

Vision posted a story of a white woman who has been accused of sexual assault in the USA. We congratulate that man for standing up. We do not gloat but this is not a one way street and it is not only blacks who are so accused.

Rosa Parks refused to be confined to the back of the bus. Good for her! We are grateful for her for her resistance to racism.

What is your perspective? This is ours.
