Perspective: Relationships Are Complex and Can Be Difficult

May 23, 2022 | By Hopeton O’Connor-Dennie | We cannot write too much about the very complex issue known as relationships. Even when married to the same woman for almost fifty (50) years, I cannot in all honesty say that I am an expert at same. My relationship is a work in progress over these 50 years. So let us not beat up ourselves. It is a very difficult job.

Ode To A Relationship

This is by no means a scientific analysis
My assessment may not even exist …
But this possible theory is hard to resist
Even if the findings are not too bliss …

In a nutshell, in a typical relationship … Of say an individual …
May be focussing on the spiritual …
When another is on the physical ….
Even the long held view of the material

When you look on at certain people’s relationship …
You thought of such as an unsinkable ship …
Like the Titanic that hit an iceberg and sank …
Many thought its hull was an impenetrable plank …

Alas! This proved otherwise on that fateful trip …
When that iceberg sank … such a massive ship …
You felt that is an impenetrable ship …
Such a fallacy does not in reality exist …

Some things are so difficult to decipher
That one is compelled to resort to intellectual rigour …
How do you understand people’s relationship …
Do not try to figure out other people’s kinship …

It appears smoothe on the outside
Yet so unclothe on the inside …
It is quite a contradiction …
Even more inexplicable than the complexities of God’s Creation …

Just mind your own business …
Pray for their relationship’s wholeness
It is never easy to ascertain which is success …
The best looking relationships on the outside may actually be a total mess …
Amen!
