Perspective: Trafigura Scandal Not Gone ….

The Mysterious Invoice

Poetic Perspective

Do not be overly sad …
We got money in a paper bag …
It should not cause a rift …
It was given to the PNP as a gift

Say not a word, no one, can misquote …
Alas! $31 mil is worthy of note …
This could buy baby clothes, feed and books
Cash apparently hijacked by “crooks” …

All the JLP is saying in one voice
Show us the invoice, the invoice, the invoice ….
Trafigura is causing a moral oil slick …
Shrouded in a spill or deceit or trick …

PNP says they are innocent …
Alas!  Their conduct is far from decent …
Cover up seems to be an issue …
Is it in their physical tissue?

This is chicken feed …
We got it in a paper bag,  just chicken feed …
Who cares if it is illegal in Holland …?
We do not live in that land …

This mystery needs to be solved
We need this missing invoice for it to be resolved …
Has the invoice been smeared in the moral oil slick ….?
This mystery seems cast in a brick ….

Colin’s buddy shows his face …
As Colin’s downfall is in disgrace
Has he come to God’s place?
To possibly gauge reaction and seek Grace …

Court ruled Portia not entitled to diplomatic protection …
This is an abomination …
Do not mix up the court …
It is legality only…they are about
Does Bruce have the PNP on the run?
As “smart” Portia is silent and avoids the sun …
Hold up in her “bunker” ….
She appears to be suddenly a sulk-ier …

Ah boss! … Why the shouting in such a loud voice …?
It is just that we need to see the invoice …
Which invoice are you shouting about …?
It is the invoice on the Trafigura transaction …. my scout …

.Ah, ah, ah ….

Commentary

Background

The long drawn out Trafigura Scandal came about when a reported $31 million was reported by the PNP as
a donation to the People’s National Party (PNP) … as a campaign gift?

In Holland it is illegal to give donations/gifts to governments who you are officially dealing/doing business with.  This is the context in which this “so called donation” could be viewed as a “bribe” under Dutch law.

DPP

The DPP’s office prosecutes such cases on behalf of foreign governments, in accordance with bilateral treatises signed between governments.  The case is still in the courts for years. Each time the lawyers for the PNP loses an appeal they try some other legal maneuver.

Good for them! Time is longer than rope. Will this matter ever get resolved in our lifetime?
