Perspective: TVJ Needs To take Responsibility

A Retraction Is Long Overdue by TVJ

Anyone in this our free society are free to blow whatever they wish. The real problem is the JLP leader is not known to publicly blow a trumpet. As a responsible political leader PM Holness has to lead by example. The PNP are like any of us who is free to blow their trumpet as they see fit. In fact who dare dictate to them what to blow. We respect their choice.

Broadcasting Act

The broadcasting of misleading information should be retracted when discovered. This should be a breach of the Rediffusion and Broadcasting Act. There should be sanctions for violators. We feel this is the role of a vigilant regulator … the Broadcasting Commission.

Bell The Cat

It is our duty as responsible media organizations to not ignore the utterances of all in the society and discriminate or consider anybody as untouchable(s). TVJ has the option to join the PNP and blow their trumpet or whatever but on the other hand it is our role to bell the cat or call them out if we so wish. We are not to be seen as picking on anyone. We feel the Jamaican people and the wider world who are our real consumers deserve a better quality level of service as it relates to transmitting information to the public that is of the highest standard. This should be sensitive and be of appropriate taste.

We hope the Broadcasting Commission will look into the conduct of TVJ. None should be above the law or convention.
