THE St James police said investigations are ongoing into the shooting of nightclub operator and popular dancehall promoter Corey Todd.

“We are continuing our investigations. We are trying to establish the identity of who the motorcycle rider was who sped away from the scene,” said Superintendent Derrick Champagnie, Commander of the St James Police Division.

Supt Champagnie also used the opportunity to thank residents for their support and urged them to continue being vigilant.

Reports are that about 5:00 am on Thursday, December 11, Todd, who operates the Taboo Nightclub in Fairview, St James, was pounced upon, shot in the right arm by a gunman.

A licensed firearm holder — who was with Todd during the attack — challenged the gunman who was shot and killed.

The dead man has been identified as Corey Grant, 29, unemployed of 2 Warehouse Avenue, Kingston 2. The police recovered a Glock 17 9mm pistol from the body of Grant.

A motorcyclist, who is believed to have been the accomplice of Todd’s attacker, sped away after the nightclub operator was shot.
