Kingston, Jamaica — Dancehall star Popcaan has joined forces with rising artist Xklusive on a new single titled “Doom,” a high-energy collaboration that is already generating attention across the dancehall community.
Now streaming on all major platforms, the track combines hard-hitting production with melodic flows, showcasing a fusion of established dancehall influence and emerging talent.
A Collaboration Built Through Studio Chemistry
According to Xklusive, the collaboration developed organically after Popcaan invited him to perform at a stage show in Alexandria. Following the event, the two linked up in the studio, where the song quickly came together through spontaneous creative chemistry.
“Popcaan invited me to a stage show in Alexandria, and after the performance he told me I needed to fawud in the city. I linked him a few days later, we were vibing to a riddim in the studio, and next thing you know we just built the track together… that’s how it goes when the energy connects,” Xklusive shared.
Dancehall Energy Meets Mainstream Appeal
“Doom” delivers a polished but gritty dancehall sound, balancing underground authenticity with broader commercial appeal. Popcaan’s melodic delivery complements Xklusive’s sharper lyrical approach, creating a dynamic contrast throughout the track.
