Popular Soca star Dexter “Blaxx” Stewart dies in Trinidad and Tobago after contracting the Coronavirus

Popular Soca star Dexter Stewart, better known as “Blaxx” died at the Intensive Care Unit of the Arima Hospital in Trinidad and Tobago yesterday after contracting the Coronavirus, COVID-19.
Blaxx, who was 61 years, was a soca-icon in his own rite, but he learned from the greats.
In 2020, Blaxx was hospitalized with lung and kidney issues.
Trinidad Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley in a statement posted on social media said:
“Condolences on the Passing of Dexter ‘Blaxx’ Stewart. Dexter ‘Blaxx’ Stewart has been a regular talented exponent of the happy musical culture of Trinidad and Tobago. His contributions were eagerly awaited each year and appreciated by hordes of adoring fans. He will be sorely missed.”
