PORT DEVELOPMENT EXPANSION FOR MONTSERRAT

Montserrat Port Development Project

The construction phase of the 46 million US dollar Montserrat Port Development Project is now underway, following the official ground-breaking.

The project is expected to increase accessibility and improve trade opportunities for the islands residents.

The project is being financed with 36.8 million US dollars in grant funding from UK aid through the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Fund, which is administered by the Caribbean Development Bank and 9.2 million US dollars from the Government of Montserrat.

Montserrat will benefit from better access to goods and services for citizens, expanded economic activity and increased trade.
