Religious Perspective: “An Ode To Eastertide”

Easter is a time to be divine …
A time to be silent, reflect & pine
To focus on things divine …
And never to neighnour be  unkind …

Easter comes after lent …
A most fitting time to repent
Jesus was tempted 40 days in the wilderness ….
He did pass the test not to impress ….

Let this be our only real task
To focus on Calvary’s Cross
Leave our burdens there …
He will show He truly does care

They triumphantly welcomed Jesus last Sunday …
On a donkey …. jubilant, dubbed Palm Sunday ….
They evidently were not focusing on Monday …
Certainly not the cruelty of Good
Friday ….

Why is this bloody event Good Friday?
Because for Christians it is no ordinary day
As on the Cross that Jesus lay …
He went to prepare the Way

I am the way … the true path to the Cross …
This is no ordinary path …
The path to shun modernity … And turn eyes to eternity ….

Alas!  In pain He bled in the sun
Let us never fail to focus on God’s Son ….

Yes!  Give cheese and even bun
But never forget Jesus the Son
“He is the way the truth and the light …”
With him you will always be right

He will never in trouble take flight …
Leaving you feeling uptight …
“I send you a Comforter …”
Spiritually, He will be your sole provider …

Ode to this Eastertide …
Reflecting on its true meaning with pride …
Not putting away thoughts spiritual …
But instead focusing on matters eternal …

When we focus only on the temporal …
We tend to forget that which is eternal ….
For His way is the only way to true salvation ….
An edit we accept with standing ovation ….

“Jesus is the way, the truth, the light ….”
With Him you will always be right ….

Amen!
