With a new administration diplomatic and other relations have to be maintained hence these courtesy calls. The PNP gave the impression that the JLP did not know how to deal with foreign policy. It was the JLP that formed the first Independent Government in Jamaica.

I was alive in 1962 when the Union Jack (British Flag) was lowered and the Black, Green & Gold of the Jamaican flag was raised.

PM Holness has a well planned Foreign Policy. It was under Edward Seaga that the USA president Ronald Reagan invited him as the first PM to the White House after his inauguration as US Leader.

There was a rough patch due to the Dudus extradition Affair but that has long passed.

Jamaica has always gotten good overseas respect under a JLP Government in Canada, USA and elsewhere.
