Shawn Ice Scores Collabo with Legendary Hip Hop Artist Tracey Lee

Washington, D.C. — January 2019 (Acclaim PR) — It’s no secret that Shawn Ice is one of Dancehall’s fasting rising stars. And when legendary Hip Hop artist Tracey Lee was seeking just the right Dancehall artist to round out his new “Expect the Unexpected” album, Shawn Ice was the name of choice. When the two connected via DJ Trini, the fiery collabo “Let It Go” was born.
“Let It Go” — featured on Tracey Lee’s10-track “Expect the Unexpected” Hip Hop masterpiece which dropped on New Year’s Day — has quickly become a fan favorite. Shawn Ice’s distinguished voice is ingeniously woven in the festive “Let It Go,” an electrifying fusion of Hip Hop and Caribbean style music. Much to his credit, Shawn Ice joins an amazing ensemble of artists on Lee’s “Expect the Unexpected” album including R&B crooner Eric Roberson, Prodigy (Mindless Behavior) and Sy Smith.
Following an amazing creole intro from Haitian artist Kit Kat, Shawn Ice encourages listeners to “Drop it low, bring it up high. Put ya two hands dem in the sky…..Live your life tell your problems good bye.” The popular Dancehall act shines through out “Let It Go,” perfectly complementing Tracey Lee’s impeccable flow.
“I am humbled to work alongside a legendary Hip Hop artist who I grew up listening to,” says Shawn Ice. ” ‘Let It Go’ gives me an opportunity to step outside the box and showcase my diversity.”
Fresh off the heels of one of his most successful years to date, which included a stellar performance on the famed “Best of the Best” concert, 2019 is already shaping up to be a year of great merit for super talent Shawn Ice. Armed with red-hot music and videos for “Elevated” and “Bad Bratt,” plus new sizzlers including “Loyalty,” “No Weapon,” “That You Love” and “Mine” (w/Pro Voice), Shawn Ice is not only amassing fan support, but also the attention of fellow artists, top producers, sounds, DJs and radio. In fact, there are some music projects in the works for the artist that could very well be game changers.
Tracey Lee, who helped define 90’s Hip Hop with “The Theme” —  aka “It’s Party Time” — is a respected artist and entertainment lawyer. Lee’s undeniably great new album “Expect the Unexpected” with producer Ogizz is a true testament that with every catchy, thought provoking bar, Lee has perfected his craft. The album bridges the gap musically between the new school sound and Hip Hop culture’s foundation.
