Sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is among 10 people who will be inducted into the Order of Jamaica, OJ as the country prepares to honour 143 individuals with national awards this year.
The ceremony will be held at King’s House on National Heroes’ Day in October 2022. The OJ is awarded to Jamaican citizens of outstanding distinction.
The decorated Olympian, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce recently stormed to a historic fifth 100m title at the 2022 World Athletics Championships.
The other OJ recipients are Joan Duncan, Monty Alexander, Olivia Grange, retired Justice Karl Harrison, Rita Lewin, Professor Maureen Samms-Vaughan, Professor Alvin Wint and Audrey Sewell.
Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who is of Jamaican heritage, will receive an honorary OJ.
