The recently released single “Baby Come To Me” has created a big buzz for Tanya Asaki.

Born in Toronto to Jamaican parents, music has always been a big part of Tanya Asaki’s life. Her music education began at Etobicoke School of the Arts and continued at Humber College where she studied Business Management and Vocal Jazz. With this training and experience, coupled with her innate talent, Tanya never disappoints. This artiste is multi-talented, singing, composing and arranging her own songs. It was therefore not surprising when, in 1999, she stepped things up a notch, leading her own 6 piece band, ‘The Unit’, on a tour of Asia.

While growing up she was an ardent fan of songbird, Whitney Houston. Now a budding diva in her own right, she is knocking on the door of success. Her latest single, “Baby, Come to Me”, shows her versatility, style and unique sound. This song, produced by Bobby Treasure and Alex Martin-Blanken, features musicians such as Dean Fraser (saxophone), Glen Browne (bass), Monty (guitar) and Alex Martin-Blanken (keyboard). The song, made popular by Regina Belle, has a smooth reggae groove and is captivating and fresh.

Tanya has already gotten a taste of the spotlight as she was a guest on an episode of ‘Soul Food’. Her talent landed her a back-up gig for 7- time Grammy Nominee, R&B Singer, Kelly Price, and Canada’s R&B artiste, Deborah Cox.

One of the strongest links Tanya has made in her music career is her recent relationship with well-known Big Ship Recording Studio and Bobby Treasure of Treasure Chest Productions. What started her journey was the song, “I Love You Still”, co-written by music producer Bobby Treasure and Tanya Asaki. The track was built and mixed by Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor of Big Ship Recording Studio.

Tanya is working hard to expand her music opportunities between Canada, Jamaica, Asia and beyond. She is busy connecting the dots while pushing up and up, breaking that glass ceiling. “I’m ready to take it to the next level,” she says. “I want to be heard. It is important for my music to encourage and influence others. It has to be heartfelt.” This beautiful flower is ready to bloom, and the package she offers is, without question, one full of talent, energy, professionalism and personality.
