The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs in St Lucia is reporting that as of July 20 this year, the Ministry is managing six suspected cases of monkeypox, of which four have no travel history out of St Lucia.
The Ministry reported this revelation on Thursday, two days after carnival and following weeks of fetes and what can be considered as public health improprieties.
These suspected cases are being managed in isolation while they await their results of the monkeypox tests.
The epidemiology unit with the Ministry of Health is conducting contact tracing for these suspected cases.
