Spragga Second Chance Movie Premiere For Carib Cinema

The spotlight is on one of Jamaica’s most iconic entertainer, Spragga Benz, with the premiere of Second Chance movie set for Carib Cinema come July 21, 2022.

The event, starting at 7:00 p.m. is expected to pull out the “Who is Who” in the entertainment fraternity, both local and abroad, where the movie is enjoying standing ovation.

Spragga Benz, who remains grateful for the support, is upbeat about the event.

“Carib is a household name in theatre and Spragga Benz is known for giving his best to the Jamaican crowd. So, you won’t be disappointed.

“Shottas, in which I played the role of Wayne, alongside Ky-Mani Marley and Paul Campbell, is still talked about after some 20 years. And, Second Chance will definately be remembered for a very long time.

“I would want this movie to be shown in our correctional Institutions because there is so much to be learnt. If we should look back at our past there is at least one occasion when we wanted a second chance in life.”

Spragga, in Second Chance, plays David a qualified Rastafarian man who struggles to find a job in Corporate America.
Discouraged by failures, he falls into.a life of crime with old high school friends. Suddenly, a situation forces him to lean on his spirituality and religious upbringing to change his ways.

Directed by Jamaican-born Cleon James, Second Chance cast also features American actress Merlisa Determined, sound selector Tony Matterhorn, soca dis jock Barrie Hype, Supa Twitch, Jodi Covington and Bumpy RedSquare.

Spragga Benz, born Carlton Grant is from McIntyre Villa (commonly known as Dunkirk) Kingston. He became known, in the early 90’s, with songs including Girls Hooray, Could a Deal and Turn Me On.

He is selected to perform at this year’s staging of Reggae Sumfest at Catherine Hall in St.James in July
