Sri Lanka spinner Kaushal reported for suspected illegal bowling action after India test

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka(AP) _ Sri Lankan off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal has been reported for a suspected illegal bowling action at the end of the third cricket test against India.

The International Cricket Council said in a statement Wednesday that match officials expressed their concerns in their report handed over to Sri Lankan team management at the end of the match at Sinhalese Sports Club on Tuesday.

Kaushal has played six test matches and captured 24 wickets, including three wickets in the concluded three-match test series against India.

His action will now be tested by the by the ICC within 14 days and if it is found to be illegal he will be suspended from bowling in international cricket and will be required to undergo remedial work.

Pakistan off-spinner Mohammad Hafeez was banned recently for 12 month after his action was found to be illegal for a second time.
