🇰🇳 St. Kitts and Nevis Launches Caribbean’s First Advanced E-Border System

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts and Nevis – In a major leap forward for digital governance in the region, Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew has announced the official implementation of a cutting-edge E-Border system, making St. Kitts and Nevis the first country in the Caribbean to roll out the advanced border technology.

The system is a key component of the Federation’s ongoing digital transformation strategy, aimed at enhancing border security while enabling seamless travel experiences for residents and visitors.

“We are proud to be the first in the Caribbean to implement this very advanced E-Border system, a key part of our digital transformation,” Dr. Drew shared in a statement on May 21. “This innovation will facilitate seamless travel and strengthen our border security.”

The E-Border system includes biometric screening, real-time data processing, and integrated traveler databases — modernizing how passengers are processed at ports of entry and exit. It’s designed to reduce congestion, prevent cross-border threats, and support regional efforts to promote safe and efficient mobility.

The initiative aligns with the Federation’s broader vision of “Powering Progress” through innovation, and positions St. Kitts and Nevis as a leader in Caribbean tech infrastructure and border modernization.
