SUGE KNIGHT-BAIL HEARING

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Suge (SHUG) Knight is due at a bail hearing today in Los Angeles. But prosecutors are giving the judge an earful about the what they say are the shady dealings of the Death Row Records founder. They say there have been dozens of incidents in which Knight has shaken down rappers and singers — requiring them to pay him if they pass through Los Angeles or Las Vegas. They say the extortion scheme Knight and his cohorts have allegedly been involved in has pulled in more than 10-million dollars since 2004. Prosecutors want Knight’s bail set at 25-million. Knight is charged with murder in an incident in which he allegedly ran over two men with his pickup truck in January. One of them died.
