Portmore Based Talent To Shine At Wildrides Family Beach Day

The highly anticipated second annual Chubby Wildrides Family Fun Tour, will be kick starting the series this year with an all day Beach event on July 2 at Fort Clarence Beach in Portmore. The success of last year’s series has propelled the return of many popular features of the family driven event which saw thousands in attendance last year; including the Belly Buster Food Zone, the huge kid’s zone, the parents lounge and video game zone.
This year though, the event will be seeking to highlight young talent from the sunshine city on the main stage. A talent show was held recently at the Event Zone at the Wildrides and Print Big offices in Naggo Head Portmore to see what potential was available for this newly introduced segment. The organizers were pleasantly surprised at not only the talent of those who came out to audition but also the diversity and sheer number of persons who came out.

“I know portmore has talented artistes and performers but I was really surprised that more than 50 persons actually come out to audition, we found it difficult to choose just one winner and had to award a second place cash prize and invite the top 5 to come to the event to perform as well,” Waqyne Fagan, CEO of Wildrides Party Rentals and Print Big Jamaica shared.
At the end of the night, new male dancehall artiste ‘Rough Cut’ and female songbird ‘India Celine’ were awarded first and second place respectively. They will be performing opening sets on Sunday July 2 at Fort Clarence beach prior to the main performer, Bling Dawg, touching the stage. The two also walked away with trophies and small cash incentives of $10,000 and $5,000 each.

“We are a portmore based party service provider and so we always look at ways to give back to the community and this is a fantastic way for us to support local talent on our Family Beach Day. Exposing them to a sure crowd of a few thousands should be a nice boost to the career they have already started to pursue” Wayne Fagan added,
The event will began at 10am with over 30 rides and other activities for the kids as well as other games and giveaways. Special deals will also be given in the shopping village with entertainement being provided by animated characters Dora and Elmo, as well as a magician, music and live performances at 5pm.
