Tourism Minister in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), Josephine Connolly informed that since their entry protocols were dropped in May, TCI has seen over 26 flights coming into the islands on a Saturday alone.

With travel increasing following over a year of lockdowns in the US, the island’s main source market, TCI has been among the top destinations for tourists in the Caribbean.

In the first quarter of 2022, TCI saw 138,762 air arrivals and 173,151 cruise arrivals.

The tourism board said they saw an average increase of approximately 33% in stopover arrivals through the Providenciales International Airport, growing from just over 34,000 stopover arrivals in January 2022 to approximately 44,600 stopover arrivals in February 2022, and 60,100 in March 2022.
