A Tropical Paradise at the African & Caribbean Wedding Show

Back by popular demand, Ambessa Weddings has announced the return of the africancaribbeanweddingshow.com. In March of 2016, Ambessa Wedding hosted, Canada’s first ever bridal event for the African community, in Toronto. This wedding show was a huge success and turned out 350 African Canadians. This year, Ambessa Weddings is expanding to include the Caribbean Canadian communities in Toronto. With roughly 550,000 African & Caribbean Canadians in Ontario alone, the African and Caribbean Wedding Show is expected to draw thousands looking to connect with wedding vendors that specialize in and understand their cultural traditions.

As the country’s first wedding show to cater to the ethnic Canadian community, The African & Caribbean Wedding Show will showcase both traditional and modern wedding themes. Newly engaged couples can explore the variety of vendors from the African, Caribbean & Canadian community. As they browse and sip mimosas, guests will be treated to a fashion show featuring modern and cultural bridal fashions, as well a panel discussion on the 2017 bridal trends.

“Ambessa Weddings is thrilled to present Canada’s premiere bridal show to serve the African & Caribbean Canadian community. This event will help newly engaged couples find vendors for their wedding, and give dozens of businesses the opportunity to meet clients and showcase their work,” says Laba Menghistab, founder of Ambessa Weddings. “In the African & Caribbean community, we rely heavily on word-of-mouth to find customers or to find a business. But what happens if you don’t know whom to ask? This is an opportunity for so many in our community living in Toronto to connect with these vendors in person.”

Last year’s show, drew out a crowd of 400+ African Canadians. Guests walked away with bridal kits valued at $150 CDN, and sponsors included John Frieda, Méreadesso, Remay Shave & My Beauty Tea. African Canadian comedian Femi Lawson brought the house down with his comedy and tantalized the crowd with his charm. The 2017 show is sure to capture the attention of the media and people in the community, by bringing a much-needed event to Toronto.
