Trump’s Decision To Not To Attend Biden’s Inaugeration … No Big Deal!

January 12, 2021 | By Hopeton O’Connor-Dennie |

Is Trump Being Unstatesmanlike, Petty or Just Dumb?

The decision of outgoing one term President Donald Trump not to attend President-Elect Joseph R. Biden’s inaugeration on January 20, 2021 could be a blessing in disguise.  His presence may turn out to be a distraction and not a welcome move.  The last thing Biden and Harris want is a disgruntled guest.  This is their moment in time. They must feel comfortable and at ease.

William Shakespeare said:

“Nothing good is ever lost”

Trump’s presence my detract attention from the new president who is supposed to be the man of the moment.  We have all long considered Trump a poor sportsman and a bitter loser. He has been tearing down the election results as being fraudulent and it was stolen from him ever since he lost the Presidency on November 3, 2020 …. so his intended absence may well be a blessing in disguise.

Blacks Should Shine

This is a great opportunity for the Democrats to ensure that blacks and persons of mixed race, shine at this ceremony.  Some of our best black artists and indigineous folks should be invited to perform.

This function is normally a very glittering affair and Trump’s absence will not make the event less historic or lacking in less pomp and circumstance.   The creme de la creme will be there and security as usual should be tight.  Crowds normally turn out to experience the glitter of this most auspicious occasion.  It does not happen everyday.  The Secret Service will shine.

Speech

Joseph R. Biden is a most eloquent speaker and we do not expect less from him on this occasion.  He is a former VP and has an excellent track record of striking the right tone.  This is not his first big outing.  He is a very educated and eloquent man who chooses is words most carefully.  You can expect him to lay out the building blocks of his policy direction and set the tone of his presidency. We are sure many world leaders have been invited and despite the pandemic will attend.

White Supremacy

Trump has not for the last four years stood up and condemned the antics of the white supremacists. He has always praised them as great actors.  Had he been more presidental and represent all lives, as is expected of a US president, then he may have earned himself more qudos and may have been rewarded with a second term.  The Confederate flag was reportedly flown when the Parliament was invaded by Trump’s supporters on January 6, 2021. This is a noted symbol of white confederacy which is akin to White Supremacy. Show me your friends and I tell you who you are.

Investigation of Biden’s son was among the things which led to Trump’ss impeachment.

Promoter-in-Chief

Donald J. Trump is widely believed to be a Promoter-in-Chief of White Supremacy and his bad-minded-ness could not allow him to be seen as promoting or being on the same stage with a man and coloured woman who stand for equality and all lives matter. We hope the Democrats will prosecute Trump when he leaves office for having incited violence. He has been a divisive force for a long time now. You will recall Trump was impeached but not found guilty by a Republican controlled Senate.

High Crimes & Misdemeanor

We hope that the new Justice Department will spare no resources to investigate and lay charges where appropriate against Trump and his cronies for any high crimes and misdemeanors they may have committed while in office. This is not a witch hunt,  just the right thing to happen. No one is supposed to be above the law, especially in the great United States of Amarica.

Andrew Jackson

Interesting times are ahead. Stay tuned for the revelations. We do not see Trump’s absence from Biden/Harris’ day as a big deal. In 1769 outgoing President Andrew Jackson never attended the inaugeration of his successor either on petty grounds.

Senate

Trump may be of the view that dividing America will make it great again.  The House and Senate are both controlled by the Democrats so there are no problems that Biden and Harris will not be able to overcome legislatively.

This is our perspective. What is yours?. Feel free to disagree.
